No. You never pay NotaryOfficial.com to search for a notary or to contact one. Notaries set their own fees for notary services, so ask the notary what they charge before your appointment.

Notaries confirm they hold a valid commission when they sign up, but we do not independently verify commissions, licenses, insurance or bonding. The "Verified Notary Pro" badge means the notary is a Professional member. It is not a credential check.

Before you hire a notary, confirm their commission is current. Most states let you look this up on the Secretary of State website.

Results put Featured notaries first, then Professional members, then Basic members, then everyone else. Paying for a plan changes where a notary appears. It never changes what you see about them: every notary in your area is still shown.

A mobile notary travels to you, at home, at work or at a hospital or care facility. Look for the Mobile tag on a profile. City pages also list mobile notaries from nearby towns who travel there, under Mobile notaries who travel to your city. Some mobile notaries hide their street address, so their map shows the general area they serve instead of a pin. Our guide What is a mobile notary? covers when it's worth it.

No. NotaryOfficial.com helps you find and contact notaries. Appointments, fees and payment are arranged directly with the notary.

On a profile nobody has claimed yet, use the Report inaccurate information link at the bottom of the page. For anything else, reach us through the contact page and tell us which profile it is.

Many profiles were added from publicly available business information so people searching in your area can find you. If one of them is yours, you can claim it and take control of what it says.

Open your profile and click Claim This Listing. You'll create an account, or log in if you have one, then tell us your connection to the business. Giving the phone number that's already on the profile speeds things up.

We review every claim by hand and email you as soon as it's been checked.

No. Claiming doesn't require a plan. Once your claim is approved you can correct your name, company name, business email, address, phone, fax and hours, and you can hide your street address from the public profile.

A Basic or Professional plan unlocks the rest of your profile: your description, website link, the services you offer, and your commission and insurance details. It also removes the ad blocks from your profile and moves you above profiles without a plan in search results. Professional adds more on top of that, covered under Plans and pricing.

Anyone can be found on NotaryOfficial.com, but a membership turns a bare profile into a complete one and puts it in front of more people. Members get a full profile with their services, credentials and website, no ad blocks, and higher placement in search for their area.

Plans are yearly: Basic is $19 a year and Professional is $49 a year.

Featured is an add-on that puts your profile at the very top of search results in your area and adds a Premier tag. It's a one-time charge that doesn't renew: 3 months for $29.99, 6 months for $49.99 or 12 months for $79.99. You need an active Basic or Professional plan to add it.

Basic and Professional are billed once a year and renew automatically, charged to your card on file through Stripe. You can see your billing history in your member dashboard. Featured is charged once and does not renew.

Yes, from your dashboard. Upgrading to Professional takes effect straight away, and you pay only the difference for the rest of your billing year. Downgrading to Basic takes effect at the end of the year you've paid for, so you keep Professional until then.

If your profile is rejected before it goes live, you get a full refund. Once a profile is approved and published, plan fees are not refundable, including if you cancel before the year ends. Featured fees are not refundable once purchased. Our Terms and Conditions have the full details.

Create an account, fill in your profile and choose a plan. We review new profiles by hand, and most go live within one business day of payment. You must hold a current notary commission.

Log in, open your dashboard and edit your profile. Changes to a live profile go live straight away. There is no charge for updating your profile.

Upload it from your dashboard. Photos are shown on Professional profiles. Phone photos are fine, including the iPhone's own format, and we resize them for you.

To step down from Professional, schedule a downgrade to Basic from your dashboard. To leave entirely, go to Account Settings and choose Delete My Account. That removes your profile straight away and cancels your plan, so you won't be charged again. Unused time is not refunded.

No. NotaryOfficial.com is a private website. It isn't connected to any state's notary commission office, and it doesn't endorse the notaries on it.
